Well July is here once again. In three days the United States will celebrate its independance, and before we know it the summer will be half over. Time sure does fly doesn't it? Well, for some of you this may be a good thing. If you're one of the millions of people enjoying Animal Crossing: New Leaf, with each passing day a new adventure lays in wait for you, and today is no exception.
Starting today you can now download the two newest DLC items. The first DLC is a standard DLC item which is a Palm Tree lamp. To get this all you have to do is go to your post office, ask for a gift, and then take it home with you. As for the second, well, there's actually two ways to get this. The second DLC item is a Cat Tower which can be downloaded from Best Buy. Simply go to your local best buy, connect to their Nintendo Zone, and there you go. Although, there is actually a much easier way to do this without even leaving your home.
If you want to get the Best Buy DLC (or any other DLC released in the future) without leaving your home, all you have to actually do is change the SSID on your router. Simply open up the router settings, change your network name to "Bestbuy" (for Best Buy), connect to it with your 3DS, and then head to your post office just like you normally would. The game will connect to the servers, see that you are connected to "Bestbuy," and then give you the gift anyway. Its a pretty easy way around the special DLCs, and it only takes a few minutes to do! (Just remember to change your SSID back to its original name. If you don't, you will have to reconnect all of your devices since they will be picking it up as a new connection.)
