Although the next game in the series will be 2.5D, it does feature some 3D elements. Levels are now layered with areas in front of the playing field, as well as areas behind. Kirby 3D - Coming 2014
Today Nintendo announced the newest addition to the long running Kirby franchise. The newest entry in the series will be for the Nintendo 3DS, it uses a very similar 2.5D style as Kirby's Return to Dream Land on the Nintendo Wii, and it will be coming out in 2014. Although a lot of this announcement was very predictable, Nintendo did show off a brand new feature.
