Hulu Coming to an End in 2026, Being Integrated With Disney + and Fubo

As first reported by Variety, Disney has officially announced they will be integrating the Hulu into Disney +, bringing both services together in a single app, with Live TV being handed off to Fubo.

The new App will be available sometime in 2026, but users outside of the US will see the "Star" brand on Disney + be replaced by Hulu.

As for users in the US, Disney + already offers the main Hulu content, with only some exclusives remaining between the two apps. Checking the mature option on Disney + allows users to access TV-MA related content, which includes shows originally designated for the Hulu side of things.

Despite these changes, both services will remain separate subscriptions. Users can sign up for Hulu or Disney +, or they can bundle them together in one package; this will not change. Hulu + Live TV however is being offloaded to Fubo, which Disney recently purchased a large stake in. Fubo subscribers will be seeing Hulu Live TV content once the deal is finalized, and current members can keep their accounts with their respective service.

Disney has confirmed that Live TV will eventually be integrated into Disney + as well, so the stand alone Hulu Live/Fubo apps will be a temporary fix until the move is fully complete.

This is not the end for Hulu as a Brand:

Despite ending stand alone Hulu, Disney currently has no plans to stop Hulu as a brand. It will continue to exist within the Disney + platform and will offering the same content as before. From TV shows to movies, to their own exclusives — none of this is going away, it is simply going to a new home. Of course this extends to Hulu exclusive anime content as well.

So what do you think about this move? Are you happy everything will be streamlined into one app? Or would you rather the services stay separate? Let us know below!
