Uncharted 4 Collector's Edition

Now I'll admit that I was originally planning on posting this yesterday, but this is exactly the very reason why I DIDN'T. Yes, I'm just like many of you out there -- I spent all night playing none other than Uncharted 4.

It's hard to believe it's been almost 5 years since Uncharted 3, and it also doesn't feel like it's been that long since Golden Abyss on the Vita. Although I don't say it enough, Uncharted is actually one of my favorite series of all time (heck, many pictures of me will show me in my Uncharted 3 shirt!), and I've always liked knowing that something new may come out at any time. It was always something for me to look forward to, but apparently that now may be coming to an end. It has been said that Uncharted 4: A Thief's End IS the end for this thief, and that the series itself may either continue with a different developer, or it may end. So of course when I heard this I was both happy and sad (happy for the new game, sad for the end), but I also knew I had to get my hands on the collector's edition.

Although it's not quite as impressive as the Uncharted 3 Collector's Edition I posted years back (which you can also see in the background of the above pic -- something I didn't even realize until I was looking at the image), it still shocked me. Content wise, all it includes is a box, a box inside a box, a steel case, a mini art book, some in game dlc, and a figure, but it's this figure that took me by surprise. While the U3CE came with a figure as well, the U4CE completely blows it away! (Which, was sort of both a good and a bad thing for me...)

While the U3 figure was roughly around 4-5 inches tall (don't quote me on this), the U4 figure stands much taller at a full 12", and it also has much more detail. Every part of Nate's design is fleshed out, and all of the smaller things are actually noticeable this time. Everything from his shoes, to his belt, to his hair, and the bloody scratch marks on his arms and face are shown in full detail and helps make the character more realistic. Of course this figure isn't actually lifelike, but it does look closer to how he appeared in the PS3 games. Either way, I was actually impressed with this one, but I was concerned on where it is I would put it. Of course I'm sure collectors would be able to pick out the perfect spot for it, but as for me, I just sat it on top of the U3 box and called it good.

Although I'm sad to see this series finally come to an end, I'm glad I'll always have something to remember it by -- it was a purchase well worth it in my book.
