Yellowfall Games is bringing Nintendo's classic Custom Robo series back to life in the form of a spiritual successor titled Battlecore Robots.
The game was originally featured during Steam Next Fest in October of 2023, but the developer recently announced the release of May Update - v0.4.17 which includes two new Battlecores to use, and a new control rebinding system.

Overview:
In Battlecore Robots the player can create and customize their own Battlecore with a wide variety of pieces and components. Frantic battles await them throughout a large list of diverse arenas with unique mechanics.
Players will be able to enter the arena alone against AI or with friends (up to 4 players) in local and online multiplayer via Steam Remote Play. Modify their equipment to match their opponents or let their imagination run wild and have fun with their friends trying out crazy combinations.
With combat mechanics inspired by Custom Robo and Power Stone, the customization of Gundam Breaker, the flashiness of Mega Man ZX and the spontaneity of Smash Bros, the YellowFall Games team hopes to bring back this fantastic genre with the support of the fans.
Customization:
Create and customize your own Battlecore with a wide variety of pieces and components. Axes that launch the enemy through the air, cluster bombs, homing bullets, moving traps... The possibilities are almost endless!
Arcade Battles:
