In a recent Xbox Two Podcast, Jez Corden of Windows Central discussed the current state of Xbox, Xbox Game Pass, and the future of series such as Fallout and Starfield; where he then confirmed DLC is in the works for the latter, with Fallout 5 now being greenlit.
The discussion can be found here and begins around the 1 hour 1 minute mark, where Jez begins by discussing how MMOs are expensive to develop, and how that makes Microsoft's recent decision to cancel their new unannounced MMO not too surprising. He then goes on to state that Starfield is not done, and that more DLC will be coming out for the game in the future. This leaves the question of who will be developing the now greenlit Fallout 5, especially considering The Elder Scrolls VI is still in development, but it could still be Bethesda.
Of course none of this has been confirmed by Microsoft or Bethesda at this time, but a Fallout 5 has always been in consideration; it was just a matter of when. With the success of the Fallout TV show on Amazon Prime, and more players than ever jumping into Fallout 76, it seems like they have decided that time is "now." (Or at least development should start now.)
What do you think about this? Are you ready for Fallout 5? And as for Starfield, how do you feel about support continuing? Feel free to let us know in the comments below!
