With the upcoming release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, many Black Ops 6 players are questioning what will transfer when upgrading to the newest entry.
Well, Activision has now confirmed that most unlockables and purchased Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 content will in fact transfer to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 upon the release of Season 1.
This news comes from the official announcement where a quick breakdown of what will, and what will not, transfer was provided.
In short the following will carry over into the game:
- Operatives
- Operative skins
- Weapons
- Weapon skins
- Scorestreak skins for scorestreaks featured in Black Ops 7
- Equipment skins for equipment featured in Black Ops 7
- XP Tokens and GobbleGums
Weapon skins will be limited to Black Ops 6 weapons however, and cannot be used on the new lineup of Black Ops 7 exclusives. Scorestreaks and equipment not featured in Black Ops 7 will not be carried forward either, as they are not in the game.
This means players currently purchasing and unlocking content in Black Ops 6 can continue to do so without worry of losing it upon the release, and players may return to Black Ops 6 even after the release of 7 to continue unlocking new items.
Additionally, Warzone will be synced with Black Ops 7 going forward, so level progress will be tied to the new title once Season 1 launches. Previously unlocked content will once again carry forward into the new version of Warzone, which includes weapons, weapon blueprints, and operatives from Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, and Black Ops 6.
For more, here is the original quote from Activision.
What is Carry Forward?
Carry Forward is a system that allows select content like weapons, Operators, and cosmetic items from a previous Call of Duty title to transfer into the next, when supported. It is designed to preserve your loadouts and personalization across connected experiences.
Carry Forward Confirmed
As detailed in the Reveal Blog, Black Ops 7 will feature the ability to utilize a wide variety of content from Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. This mostly begins a few weeks after launch at the start of Season 1. Prior to more in-depth comms on this subject, here’s what to expect:
Black Ops 6 XP Tokens and GobbleGums will carry forward at the launch of Black Ops 7.
Black Ops 6 Weapons, Operators, and Operator Skins will carry forward at the start of Season 1 with some exceptions:
Equipment and Scorestreak Skins for content unavailable in Black Ops 7 will not carry forward.
Equipment and Scorestreak Skins for content updated for Black Ops 7 (for example, a Scorestreak that performs similarly, but has a different look and feel in BO7 compared to BO6) will not carry forward.
Black Ops 6 Weapon Camos will not be transferable to Black Ops 7 weapons, but still usable on Black Ops 6 weapons.
Call of Duty: Warzone integration will also begin at Season 1. All current content, including Operators, Weapons, and Weapon Blueprints from Modern Warfare® II, Modern Warfare III, and Black Ops 6 will carry forward with some caveats and exceptions:
Weapons will continue to be tuned for Call of Duty: Warzone.
Call of Duty: Warzone players should expect a Rank Reset at Season 1, with your progression synchronized to Black Ops 7’s Progression Systems
