Silent Hill f Novelization Coming October 30th in Japan

The official Silent Hill social media account has revealed that a novelization of the newly released Silent Hill f is set for release on October 30th, 2025 in Japan; an English release has yet to be announced.

The novel will be written by Shiro Kuro and is based on Silent Hill f's original story written by Ryukishi07. Ryukishi07 is the creator of the When They Cry series, which includes Higurashi no Naka Koro ni  (When the Cicadas Cry) and Umineko no Naku Koro ni (When the Seagulls Cry), and has been well known in the horror space since the early 2000s. 

Both series began as episodic sound novels, and have been adapted into more traditional visual novel form. Higurashi has seen multiple anime adaptations, a novelization, live action films, manga series, a television drama, and more, while Umineko received a manga, a novelization, and an anime adaptation in 2009.

Ryukishi07 also contributed as one of the writers for Key's Rewrite visual novel, which originally released in 2011. Silent Hill f is his first original story outside of When They Cry.

Shiro Kuro is also a well known horror author, and has adapted multiple games into novel form. This includes NG, which is a novelization based on NG of the Spirit Hunter visual novel series. Other works include Yomawari 3, SCP Hunter,Disaster Detective Saiga, Ghost Swindler Michiwo, and more.
