Xbox Will Increase in Price Once Again Beginning October 3rd 2025

Microsoft
has announced that the pricing on Xbox hardware will once again be increasing due to changes in the macroeconomic environment.

The new prices will be as follows:

  • Xbox Series S 512 - $399.99 ($20 up from $379.99)
  • Xbox Series S 1TB - $449.99 ($20 up from $429.99)
  • Xbox Series X Digital - $599.99 ($50 up from $549.99)
  • Xbox Series X - $649.99 ($50 up from $599.99)
  • Xbox Series X 2TB Galaxy Black Special Edition - $799.99 ($70 up from $729.99)

Surprisingly, this puts the most expensive Xbox Series X past the price range of the PlayStation 5 Pro, which previously saw backlash from many due to it being sold for $749.99.

"We understand that these changes are challenging, and they were made with careful consideration," said Microsoft. "Looking ahead, we continue to focus on offering more ways to play more games across any screen and providing value for Xbox players."

The good news is, this increase doesn't occur until October 3rd, 2025, so players looking to pick up an Xbox console still have time before the changes go into effect. On the other hand, Xbox hardware already saw one price increase back in May of this year. So even if you do purchase a console prior to October 3rd, it is already at an increased rate compared to what it was only a few months ago. The previous increase also impacted Xbox accessories as games, but this new change does not.

Will this be the last change to Xbox hardware pricing? It is hard to say, but there is always the chance this will not be the end of it.
