Battlefield 6 is more than just another Battlefield title. With full map editor capabilities, fans are able to create just about anything they can imagine. It is thanks to these free usable tools released by the development team, that some fans are bringing none other than Call of Duty into the title.
One such user is X user Matavatar, who has been hard at work bringing some of the most popular maps from the series into the game. At the time of this article, Matavatar has shared three maps, including: Rust, Killhouse, and Shipment, with more to come.
This is just the beginning for Battlefield 6, as fans also have the freedom to create their own game modes, and scripted NPCs as well. This opens the floodgate to allow nearly unlimited possibilities for what this game can become, and to top it all off, progress is not locked out.
Completing games in such rooms still allows players to level up, unlock new equipment, upgrade guns, obtain dog tags, complete challenges, and more, and all progress is recorded on each user's profile as well. And Matavatar is not the only user to bring such custom content to Battlefield 6.
Since the game's launch, the Battlefield Portal has been filled with countless custom game modes and maps that users have created. An in game browser must be used to locate these experiences, but there are sorting options in place to help players find exactly what they are looking for. This lets everyone play the Battlefield they want to play, and means they are not bound by official servers and game modes.
As these game modes and maps are built using the game itself, no additional downloads are needed, and starting a new match within them is just one button press away—assuming the servers are not at capacity.
On a side note the Battlefield Team must approve all content that is submitted, and content that infringes on the rights of others, or violates their terms of use will be terminated. To make your own maps or game modes however, you can head over to the official Battlefield Portal website.
