Square Enix has officially announced that a new Dissidia Final Fantasy title is in the works, and will be fully announced on October 14th; however, there is a catch...
It turns out the next game will in fact be a mobile title, similar to Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia which closed its servers in February 2024.
Of course mobile technology has come a long way since the release of Opera Omnia, and if Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis has shown fans what Square Enix is willing to do with their newer mobile releases, then a new mobile Dissidia title may be a lot more similar to what the series once was.
So will it be a full 3D fighter like the original mainline titles? We'll find out in a couple of days.
