Nintendo has released a free update for Donkey Kong Country Returns HD for the Nintendo Switch, which adds Dixie Kong as a playable character, and new features when playing on a Nintendo Switch 2.

- Turbo Attack mode: Go ape in a time trial mode where everything is sped up!
- Enhanced visual effects
- Enhanced resolution and load times for the Nintendo Switch 2 system
- GameShare support for Nintendo Switch 2: Play together with a friend who does not have the game via local wireless
- Brazilian Portuguese language support
