Granblue Fantasy Versus to Shut Down Online Services in April, Select Trophies to Become Unavailable

It has been announced that Granblue Fantasy Versus, which first released in 2020, will be shutting down its online services on April 20th, 2026; this means two trophies will also become unavailable (three when counting the platinum) if not earned before this time.

The shut down is due to the fact that Granblue Fantasy Versus was replaced by Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising in 2023, which will continue to be supported going forward.

With the closure of the online servers, Granblue Fantasy Versus will no longer allow players to complete the Tutorial Matches, or fight against other players online. This renders two of the game's trophies unobtainable following the closure, so fans who wish to achieve the Platinum Trophy will need to unlock both of these before April. Additionally the code list, which provided bonus codes for the main Granblue Fantasy browser game, will also be removed.

Outside of the online servers, all game modes will continue to be active, including offline battles and the single player RPG story mode.

For more information, here is a full overview of what is changing as provided by the developers.

Overview:

Since its release in 2020, we have been truly grateful to everyone who has enjoyed playing Granblue Fantasy: Versus (GBVS) online. We deeply appreciate your support and enthusiasm over the years.

We’d like to let you know that beginning April 20, 2026 (PT), we will be scaling back online features. As a result, the game will enter a state similar to when it is undergoing online maintenance: features such as ranked matches, the online lobby, and accessing serial codes will be unavailable, while other online features will still be available in a limited capacity. Details of this downscaling are as follows.

Server Downscaling Date and Time

(Some residual text may remain regarding Ranked Match.)

3. IMPORTANT: Serial Codes
Bonus serial codes for the original Granblue Fantasy mobile game that were included with the main game or DLC can no longer be accessed by going to Serial Codes in the menu, as the menu option will be removed after the server downscaling date. Players are strongly encouraged to screenshot or write down their serial codes prior to the server downsizing date on 8 a.m., March 31, 2026 (PT) if they have not redeemed them in the original Granblue Fantasy mobile game yet. Serial codes can continue to be redeemed after the server downsizing date.

4. Trophies
The following trophies can no longer be unlocked due to being unable to meet their completion requirements. Players hoping to complete every trophy should do so prior to the server downscaling date.

Unavailable Trophies:
・Now the Real Fight Begins!: Due to being unable to complete tutorial matches.
・Hot Enough for You?: Due to online battle results no longer being recorded.
・Platinum Sky: Due to being unable to complete all trophies (unless the above two trophies have already been unlocked).

Trophies that have already been unlocked will not disappear.

5. Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising
The sequel to GBVS, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising (GBVSR), is still receiving support with both in-game updates and offline events.
