About:

Embark on a nostalgic journey through the heartwarming memories of Olga.

This first-person narrative immerses you in the serene, rustic beauty of Belovodica, a secluded mountain village in the heart of the Balkans.

"Olga“ is a story-driven adventure/mystery/exploration game inspired by Slavic culture. Leaning towards the walking simulator genre, it features a rather simple story that's enough to keep the player engaged and entertained while enjoying the well-crafted, immersive environment, but not complex enough to a point where they have to try hard to understand what's happening with the characters or remember their lore.

Olga is the perfect formula for engagement, enjoyment, immersion, entertainment, and relaxation, meaning it's a great pick for those who want to wind down and engage in gameplay that's not demanding yet still evokes a lot of feelings. You can play the game after a long day of work and you won't be frustrated by any demanding mechanics or a long list of information that you need to remember about the characters to not lose track of the story.

Gameplay

Olga won't feature a combat system or complex gameplay mechanics that require lots of thinking, planning, and quick reactions.

There will be mini-puzzles and some challenges but their goal is to provide a feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment to the player after completing them due to how straightforward they are.

Our goal is not to force the player to think, but instead provide logical and simple encounters that match the storyline and make a lot of sense when it comes to finding the solution, much like everyday tasks we run into in our daily life. These puzzles are not naive. They are well integrated within the story and the player won't even perceive them as puzzles, minimizing the frustration in those who just want to enjoy the environment and story, while simultaneously providing a sense of reward after completing them.

The excitement and feelings that a player needs to feel from playing a game will come from the environment, the story, and the interesting aspects of the Slavic culture that a major part of the world hasn't uncovered yet.
  • Atmospheric and well crafted environment
  • Stylized visuals
  • Pleasant and easy-going
  • Not Demanding
  • No Combat
  • Peaceful Exploration
  • Narrative Driven
Narrative

The story takes place in 1988, in Belovodica. Kristina and Stefan, Olga's parents, must leave the country for a business trip, but won't take her with them. They decide to leave Olga with her grandparents for a few weeks in Belovodica, a tiny village hidden deep within the Macedonian mountains.

Olga is eleven years old. Her first time in Belovodica was five years ago. After her parents leave her at the start of the forest, Olga says her farewell and starts making her way towards her grandparents' house.

The story unfolds at a time when communication devices, such as cell phones, were not available to those living in such areas. All Belovodica has to offer Olga is an isolated, peaceful, and quiet life with her old grandparents, or at least that’s what she wanted to believe...

About The Game

Olga is inspired by the Slavic culture and traditions, and as such will portray music, architecture, melodies, clothing, and character personalities that all match the Slavic lifestyle/culture.

The game is inspired but not entirely realistic as it will feature supernatural moments and some adjustments to reality in favor of the story and gameplay. It's a fantasy/fable-like game after all. For the most part, though, what you will see in Olga, such as the foods and drinks featured, tasks that Olga encounters, traditions, buildings, clothes, and character attributes, are accurate and match Slavic culture.

We have a very old book from Belovodica, one of its kind, from where we draw further knowledge and ideas about the life back then and everything else we need to fully immerse the player into the magical Slavic culture and traditions.
