Solo indie developer BeamBrain has announced the release of Guardian Cry, a new free-to-play action adventure game inspired by the Super Nintendo Classics; available exclusively on PC.
Players can download the game today via BeamBrain's itch.io page.
About:
The Venox Empire has invaded the peaceful land of Ilethia. It burns the towns, and those it does not kill, it drives to the hinterlands or sends to its mines. It tears into the Earth, defiling the land for mineral resources, and in doing so, it releases a long-buried corruptive force: Miasma. Miasma infests the land and its creatures, driving them into a blind rage and making them attack everything in sight. Ilethia becomes a violent and perilous place, where imperial sword and enraged beast alike threaten all who live.
Not even Ilethia's four Guardian deities are immune to the maddening effects of the corruption. The steadfast Minotaur, the fierce Gryphon, the wise Phoenix, and the kind Unicorn, once guides and protectors to the people, withdraw into their temples and twist them into hostile, dangerous gauntlets. If they can be defeated in battle, the miasma can be purged from them, and they will lend their powers to the one who freed them from its influence.
And so, after selling your possessions to buy armor and stealing an imperial sword, you set out on a perilous journey. You must venture into the corrupted temples, where maddened beasts and diabolical puzzles bar your way to the Guardians you must free. Only with all of their combined abilities will you finally be strong enough to drive the Venox Empire from the land and save Ilethia.
