Excited about the upcoming Crazy Taxi but want to play the series right now? Well thanks to one dedicated fan, Crazy Taxi 3: High Roller has been recompiled and updated for modern hardware!
Earlier this year RohanKar uploaded Crazy Taxi 3: High Roller to the Internet Archive. The game is considered abandonedware, as it has not seen a release since the PC port in 2004, and SEGA seemingly has no plans on bringing it back.
For this fan recompiled version, the original Xbox soundtrack has been restored, and it now supports higher framerate and resolutions. While the game itself isn't exactly the same as the original, thanks to the inclusion of the jump button, it does include the original Crazy Taxi map, as well as the main map from Crazy Taxi 2—along with a new location exclusive to Crazy Taxi 3. This makes it the perfect title to experience the series, though die-hard fans will almost always prefer the true originals.
