PlayStation has announced that the Infamous 2 servers will go offline on August 31st, 2026.
Following this date players will still be able to play the single player mode of Infamous 2, however the user created missions will no longer be available to play.
With the removal, four trophies will also become unobtainable, making the Platinum Trophy impossible to earn if they are not obtained before the shut down date. These trophies include:
Level Up
Create a new mission using the UGC level editor.
UGC Curious
Play 10 user-generated missions.
UGC Veteran
Play 25 user-generated missions.
Trail Blazer
Play 5 user-generated missions under the Newest filter.
The level editor was a major feature of Infamous 2, and offered countless ways for fans to continue enjoying the game, even after the credits rolled. With the servers going offline, nearly 15 years worth of content will be lost forever.
Official Message from Sony:
Due to ongoing technical considerations, online support for the User Generated Content (UGC) features in inFAMOUS 2 on PlayStation 3 will end as of Aug 31st 2026.
After this date, players will no longer be able to access, browse, upload, download, or play UGC missions through the inFAMOUS 2 online servers. Offline features, including the main campaign, will remain playable.
