Witch on the Holy Night Animated Film Premieres on November 20th in Japan

Type-Moon and Aniplex have announced Ufotable's animated film adaptation of the visual novel Witch on the Holy Night will premiere on November 20th, 2026 in Japan.

The film is another entry in the fan-dubbed "Nasuverse," which includes the likes of the Fate series, Tsukihime, and The Garden of Sinners. Witch on the Holy Night itself stars Aoko Aozaki, the mysterious girl Shiki encounters at the beginning of Tsukihime, and the younger sister of Touko Aozaki—a character who has appeared or played a role in multiple entries across the franchise, including The Garden of Sinners, Fate/Zero, Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel, and Fate/Extra.

While an English release has yet to be announced, the visual novel has been translated and is available now. You can learn more about the game from our full review, where we had this to say about the title:

"Witch on the Holy Night is more comparable to a movie. It's not as long as some visual novels out there, but it covers everything it needs to while also giving viewers plenty of eye candy along the way. It's impressive what this visual novel pulls off during it's run time, and it makes the entire experience a joy."
