Type-Moon has announced the remake of Fate/EXTRA, Fate/EXTRA Record will now be published by Aniplex.
Originally Bandai Namco was set to publish the title, but it was revealed in March of 2026 that Type-Moon was looking for a new publisher. With this change also comes changes to the title's development structure, and the system within Type-Moon studio BB—the team handling the game.
Fate/EXTRA Record was set for release in Japan for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC in 2026, but a new date has yet to be announced.

We would like to inform you that we have decided to Aniplex Co., Ltd. regarding the sales source change of "Fate / EXTRA Record" announced recently.
As a result, the current official website and official X account will be closed around 17:00 on September 7th. Information on the future of Fate/EXTRA Record will be announced by Aniplex.
In addition, we would like to inform you that we have made some changes to the entire development of Fate/EXTRA Record and the system within TYPE-MOON studio BB.
Along with this change, the staff notation on the new official website, etc. that will be released in the future, will also be changed.

In accordance with the official announcement, I also have some regrettable news to share with everyone.
I, Kazuya Shinonō, will be leaving TYPE-MOON Studio BB due to personal reasons.
Regarding the currently in-planning and in-development *Fate/EXTRA Record*, I hereby report that I have already stepped away from the development site,
and I have also resigned from my position as director.
Additionally, upon reflecting on my own sense of responsibility, I have decided to remove my name from the staff credits in line with this announcement. I deeply apologize to the fans who were looking forward to it, as I was unable to fulfill my duties as director until the completion of this work.
This project is currently being tackled with full effort by the outstanding staff united as one, toward its release,
and I am confident that it will be delivered to everyone in a great form.
In the future, I will not be making any mentions or announcements regarding this work, but as one fan, I sincerely hope and cheer for it to safely
reach everyone's hands. I extend my deepest gratitude to all who have supported this work up to now.
