Square Enix has released an extended trailer for the upcoming Kingdom Hearts IV, set to release in 2027 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
The trailer showcases The Land of the Dead from Pixar's Coco, Mickey as a playable character exploring a magical book, playable Donald and Goofy, and more.
When discussing Kingdom Hearts IV, Tetsuya Nomura stated that Coco was chosen because it aligned with Sora's current situation, which is slightly different from where we've seen him in past games. He also wanted to ensure fans that the game is in fact coming out in 2027. Additionally he hinted at a new "idea" that will be included in Kingdom Hearts IV. It was originally envisioned for Kingdom Hearts III, however, they were not able to incorporate it at that time. No further information was revealed, but Nomura hopes fans look forward to seeing it.
This is just the beginning of the game's marketing, so fans can expect to learn more about the title in the near future.
