Scarlet Moon has announced vocalist J'Nique Nicole has joined its acclaimed family of talent.
J'Nique Nicole is an American singer-songwriter and lyricist best known
for her work on NieR: Automata, including writing
the English lyrics and performing vocals on the main theme,
"Weight of the World," and both "A Beautiful Song" and
"Memories of Dust." With her signing Scarlet Moon now represents all three lead vocalists from the NieR
series, with Emi Evans and Nami Nakagawa already on the roster.
Developers and fans alike can visit the Scarlet Moon Artists website to
read J'Nique Nicole's bio, credits, and hear her demo reel.
NieR:
Automata has sold over ten million units globally and its soundtrack,
featuring J'Nique alongside Emi Evans and
Nami Nakagawa, won Best Score/Soundtrack at The Game Awards. J'Nique's
contributions also earned her an Outstanding Solo Artist award, and "A
Beautiful Song" was spotlighted during Japan's synchronized swimming
routine at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
Outside of NieR, J'Nique was the vocalist for Elena's theme, "Beats in My Heart," in Street Fighter 6, “Unraveling of a Fantasy” in Wuthering Waves, and with credits including FOAMSTARS, Gran Saga (composed by Yoko Shimomura), and Girls' Frontline. As an accomplished touring artist in Japan, she has performed in 13 major tours alongside artists such as Toshinobu Kubota and AI, and has taken the NieR: Orchestra Concert stage around the world.
"I've partnered with Scarlet Moon because both of my mentors, Emi
Evans and Nami Nakagawa, have also done so and I knew I'd be in good
hands if I did the same," comments J'Nique Nicole. "I know it will be a
wonderful and worthwhile experience to broaden my horizons and
collaborate with up and coming developers. There are a lot of gems out
there that can get overlooked and I want to help change that."
"I've
been a longtime fan of J'Nique's work on NieR: Automata and love how
seamlessly she fit into the NieR vocal universe in a way that felt as
though it was always waiting for her," adds Scarlet Moon's Jayson
Napolitano. "I knew from the moment we met that she would be a wonderful
addition to the roster, and it's a huge honor to have her trust and
partnership as we explore new avenues together. It's also really cool to
be able to unite her with Emi and Nami as three of the coolest and most
powerful voices in games."
