NIS America has announced The Eminence in Shadow: Phantom Echoes, a new roguelite video game adaptation of the anime series The Eminence in Shadow; the game launches in 2027 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and PC.

This title is the first console 3D action roguelite game based on The Eminence in Shadow anime. It adopts "roguelite" elements, in which character abilities are randomly enhanced during each playthrough, allowing players to craft unique builds from a wide variety of combinations and enjoy action combat against challenging enemies.
The debut trailer features an unveiling of the gameplay, showcasing Alpha’s sword moves and Awakening, the ability selection system that forms a key pillar of The Eminence in Shadow: Phantom Echoes. Additionally, scenes depicting a wounded Delta and a showdown between Alpha and Shadow were shown near the end of the trailer, offering a brief glimpse into the wild, unpredictable story that will unfold in this title.

The Eminence in Shadow series has sold over 8 million copies worldwide! In this beloved series, an overpowered, delusional protagonist makes for a unique comedy drama driven by misunderstandings!

Neither the protagonist nor the antagonist, they are a being who conceals their true power, blending into the background and quietly intervening in stories with subtle displays of strength.
A boy who admired these types of shadow broker characters lived under the guise of an unremarkable civilian as he trained in pursuit of power...before his untimely death.
And his rebirth into another world.
The boy, reborn as Cid Kagenou, saw this as a blessing in disguise and decided to enjoy playing the role of shadow broker in this other world. He operated covertly to defeat the Cult of Diablos, a fabrication of his imagination.
Or so he thought. But it turns out the Cult of Diablos...actually exists?
Due to a series of misunderstandings, Cid takes several girls under his wing who come to idolize him, calling him Shadow. And so, unwittingly, Cid becomes a true eminence in shadow, leading the underground organization known as Shadow Garden in order to destroy the darkness of this new world.
