Tribute Games has announced new details for the first DLC expansion for Marvel Cosmic Invasion, The Siege of Castle Doom, featuring a completely new game mode.

About Castle Doom Mode
In the Castle Doom mode’s run-based action, you must break through the defenses of Victor von Doom’s foreboding stronghold before he’s able to activate the Cosmic Inductor. This flawed weapon was designed to thwart Annihilus, but is destined to end the cosmos as we know it.
Each encounter you survive will charge the Stabilizer, a genius creation of The Fantastic Four’s Reed Richards that’s capable of foiling his oldest nemesis’ newest plan. Gather Battery Cells and complete challenges to earn defense, damage or tactical upgrades from a collection of 12 different perks, but keep your wits about you: failing challenges will debuff your fighters, and Doctor Doom has set traps anticipating your arrival … Thankfully, successful runs will help permanently unlock new equipment and events from Reed’s Lab, as well as modifiers that can deepen the challenge and potential rewards available in future attempts.
Choose your path through the castle’s winding routes and thoughtfully select buffs to alter your combat abilities to become an unstoppable powerhouse. You’ll need all the might you can muster to persevere, and the castle’s deadly Doom Bots are allied with bosses returning from the base game to settle scores with you.
Whichever path you take and perks you choose, be sure to reach Victor von Doom before the ominous Siege Gauge is full; the castle’s forces grow in power as the gauge fills, but your heroic efforts will end instantly if the gauge completely fills before your climatic showdown.
In addition to Castle Doom’s distinct new challenge, MARVEL Cosmic Invasion: The Siege of Castle Doom’s celebration of MARVEL’s golden eras also includes the debut of The Fantastic Four’s Susan Storm as well as Doctor Doom as playable characters, new unlockable color palettes for all playable Super Heroes who successfully defeat Doctor Doom, as well as electrifying original musical tracks from renowned composer Tee Lopes.
