Gundam Card Game Set To Launch In July

The hotly anticipated Gundam trading card game is set to release on July 11, 2025. There are four Starter Decks announced for this opening salvo of a release. The first deck, Heroic Beginnings, is themed around cards from the original Mobile Suit Gundam series from 1979 and The Witch from Mercury. The second deck, Wings of Advance, has a Mobile Suit Gundam Wing focus. The third deck centers around the villains; dubbed Zeon's Rush, this set seems to be specifically leaning toward the Zeon faction from the original Mobile Suit Gundam and Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn. I'd imagine this would be the deck you'd want if you're a Char Aznable fan like I am. The final Starter Deck, SEED Strike, is themed around Mobile Suit Gundam SEED. None of these decks have images available yet, but you can find pictures of random cards from the TCG online. Each deck is listed at being $11.99, with an additional "Special Edition" version also available and listed at $34.99.

The first set of booster Packs for the game, labeled Newtype Rising, are set to release a couple of weeks after launch on July 25, 2025. I'm thoroughly impressed with the entire package that we've seen from this TCG so far. The card art looks simply superb. The implementation of their tabletop miniatures, however minute, is a really neat feature that immediately makes the game feel more tactile and involved. The website (linked at the top of this article) also lists card sleeves and damage token counters, that I'm sure will be great looking as well. I can't wait to get my grubby mitts on this amazing looking card game, and we'll be sure to cover more of it as information becomes available.
