Bandai Namco has officially announced Super Robot Wars Y, the latest entry within the tactical role playing crossover series, featuring characters and mechs from popular anime, game, light novel, and manga series; set to release later in 2025.
While a full character list was not provided, the currently known series to be featured in the game are as follows:
- COMBATTLER V
- Aura Battler Dunbine
- Mobile Fighter G Gundam
- Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury Season 1
- Majestic Prince
- Macross Delta: Passionate Walküre
- Code Geass Lelouch of the Re;surrection
- Getter Robot Arc
With more to be announced in the near future.
Super Robot Wars Y is the second mainline Super Robot Wars title to be released in the West, with previous entries releasing in Asia with English Translations. This is also the first Western released game to feature characters from a Macross series, which has previously been locked to Japan thanks to legal issues.
While further details were not revealed, the game itself follows the same gameplay style as previous entries in the series, with branching story paths, hidden units to obtain, countless ways to customize your characters and the mechs they pilot, and flashy attack animations during fights.
The game will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC.
