Square Enix Announces Three Year Reboot and Future Plans

Square Enix
has announced their future plans via a PDF released to investors; details three year reboot, future titles, and a new focus on multiplatform releases.

As detailed in the PDF, 2026 is focused on classic Final Fantasy titles, Bravely Default HD, and Dragon Quest I + II; with multiple new (unannounced) titles also in the works.

Over the next three years, the company plans to release Final Fantasy XIV on mobile, Final Fantasy VII Remake on the Nintendo Switch, and multiple new major title releases as well. They plan to continue releasing major new titles well into 2028 and beyond, with a focus on multiplatform releases.

This is a shift from their previous years where Final Fantasy titles had been released as PlayStation 5 console exclusives.
