KOEI TECMO and developer Kou Shibusawa have announced in honor of ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS's 40th anniversary, they will be releasing ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS 8 REMAKE: Destiny and Strategy Expansion Pack Bundle; the first large-scale remake in the ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS series.
The new bundle will be available beginning January 29th, 2026, and will include the Destiny and Strategy Expansion Pack, adding multiple new elements to the tactical simulation.

ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS 8 REMAKE: Destiny and Strategy Expansion Pack Bundle includes a host of newly added features to help broaden the Three Kingdoms experience including “Gems,” “Turning Point,” and new scenarios. Rulers, viceroys, governors, tacticians, common officers, chieftains and free officers – each have various commands they can obtain, and “Gems” can change with each play to enjoy different ways of character growth. Meanwhile, the “Turning Points” allow for a complete change in a stalemate of each force’s situation, depending on the “opportunities” that can increase according to the passage of time, disasters and state of affairs. Additionally, with new “traits,” new events, Parliament and City commands, 5 additional fictional scenarios, enhancement of in-game editing, Chinese voices, and more, players can have a unique and limitless Three Kingdoms experience.
Everyone who purchases a digital edition of ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS 8 REMAKE: Destiny and Strategy Expansion Pack Bundle up to the first two weeks after release will receive the “Loyal Han Retainer Ma Teng” scenario as an early purchase bonus.
