The Indie developer KIB Games want's to make a horror game with no traditional Hud system, and has launched its Steam page recently. Void Priest aims to go for a "screenless" world to attempt full immersion.
Here is the general info the developer shared about the game.
Overview:
Guided only by symbols, relics, and light, players investigate eldritch crimes, decipher forbidden texts, and connect fragments of evidence on their investigation board. Instead of combat, survival is achieved through knowledge, rituals, and endurance against madness.
VOID PRIEST is designed around a world without screens:
- Health and sanity are represented by candlelight.
- A shifting grimoire reveals symbols as understanding grows.
- Relics act as both tools and truths.
Key Features
- Lovecraftian psychological horror detective gameplay.
- No HUD, no menus – the world itself is the interface.
- Minimal text/voice, with symbolic language and world-driven feedback.
- Intuitive, context-aware controls with no menu transitions.
- Lo-fi visuals with rich atmosphere – optimized even for low-spec PCs.
- Survival through rituals and knowledge, not combat.
- Replayable outcomes shaped by mysteries solved, choices made, and sanity endured.
Void Priest doesn't have a release date as of yet. However, you can Wishlist the game today on it's Steam page.
