After years of work by dedicated fans, the Japanese Nintendo DS exclusive The Series of Haruhi Suzumiya (Suzumiya Haruhi no Chokuretsu) has been fully translated, and is now available for download as a patch.
The project was handled by The Haroohie Translation Club, and consisted of translating over 38,000 lines of dialogue, and adding subtitles to voiced scenes. The game itself contains multiple routes to play through, and is set shortly after the events of the second Light Novel The Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya. The Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya was also adapted into anime form during the re-airing of the original series in 2009, which was a surprise to fans, and ultimately formed Season 2.
To play the translation, one must legally obtain a copy of the original Japanese release, and follow the patch guide as provided by the developer's official website.
