Anima Project has announced Anima Song from the Abyss will be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2027.
Previously we here at Netto's Game Room spoke with Anima Project regarding the series, and learned of their past issues with their previous publisher, and also a bit more insight on the future of the series—Song from the Abyss included. At the time a release date was uncertain, but now we have a general release window.
In the interview it was stated that Song from the Abyss would be a independent sequel to Gate of Memories, and when discussing the game's story, Carlos, the creator of the series, had this to say:
In the game, while trying to prevent the destruction of an airship and stop its monstrous attackers, a young knight inadvertently releases an enigmatic entity that had been imprisoned inside an artifact. The mysterious girl offers the knight a deal: in exchange for his own salvation and that of the few remaining passengers on board, he must accompany her to the heart of the Abyss and uncover why she was sealed there.
