Characters:
Rintaro Okabe
VA: Mamoru Miyano
No.001
The protagonist. Afflicted by adolescent delusions of grandeur or “chuunibyou”, he acts theatrically villainous, and refers to himself as the mad scientist “Hououin Kyouma”. He founded a group known as the “Future Gadget Laboratory” in Akihabara and invents gadgets with unknown purposes.
Mayuri Shiina
VA: Kana Hanazawa
No.002
Okabe’s childhood friend. A cheerful, easygoing, and naturally airheaded girl. Her hobby is making cosplay outfits, which she loves to dress others in. Due to her childhood memories of gazing at the night sky while riding on her grandmother’s back, she has a habit of reaching out to the sky—a quirk Okabe has dubbed “Stardust Handshake”.
Itaru Hashida
VA: Tomokazu Seki
No.003
Okabe’s friend since high school, nicknamed “Daru”. An active otaku who indiscriminately enjoys anything moe, whether it be 2D or 3D. He talks a lot, frequently uses internet slang, and often makes sexually harassing remarks. He has great confidence in his programming and hacking skills, leading Okabe to dub him “My Favorite Right Arm”.
Kurisu Makise
VA: Asami Imai
No.004
A researcher at Viktor Chondria’s Brain Science Institute. A brilliant woman who graduated from university at the age of 17. Her paper was published in a prestigious American academic journal, causing a buzz in certain circles. Despite her constantly sullen appearance, at heart, she is a curious and scientifically-minded individual who will stick her nose into anything that piques her interest.
Moeka Kiryu
VA: Saori Goto
No.005
A part-time worker at the editing company “Arc Rewrite”. She has an extreme addiction to her cell phone and sends emails instead of directly talking to the person she’s conversing with, even when they’re right in front of her. She often wanders around Akihabara searching for a legendary retro PC, the “IBN 5100”.
Luka Urushihara
VA: Yu Kobayashi
No.006
Mayuri’s classmate. An individual with all the traits of a classically beautiful girl—polite, refined, and pure. But he’s a guy. The only son of the Yanabayashi Shrine, he always wears a shrine maiden robe at his father’s suggestion. Because of his earnest nature, he readily takes what others say at face value and believes Okabe’s chuunibyou rants to be true.
Faris NyanNyan
VA: Haruko Momoi
No.007
The most popular maid at the Akihabara maid cafe “MayQueen+Nyan²”. She is Mayuri’s co-worker. Her speech is, somewhat embarrassingly, filled with “nyan-nyan” cat speak. She’s one of the rare individuals capable of holding their own against Okabe’s chuunibyou tendencies. Her real name is a secret.
Suzuha Amane
VA: Yukari Tamura
No.008
A young woman who came to interview for a part-time job at “Braun Tube Workshop”. Energetic and a little rough around the edges, she loves bicycles. Although seemingly friendly, she’s not the type to pry too deeply into people’s lives. Occasionally, she’ll use strangely difficult words or utter cryptic remarks, revealing an unexpected side of herself.
Yuugo Tennouji
VA: Masaki Terasoma
He is the owner of the building where the “Future Gadget Laboratory” is located, and also the owner of “Braun Tube Workshop” on the first floor of the same building. A widower, he cherishes his only daughter, Nae, and CRT monitors. Okabe calls him “Mister Braun”.
Nae Tennouji
VA: Ayano Yamamoto
An elementary school student and the only daughter of Yuugo Tennouji. She loves her father very much and often visits his shop after school. She has a somewhat quiet personality. While she adores Mayuri, she’s quite timid around Okabe and Daru.
Doctor Nakabachi
VA: Mitsuru Ogata
An inventor who independently conducts time machine research. He is well-known due to his frequent appearances on television and other media. He holds a press conference in Akihabara to commemorate the successful invention of a time machine.
