Developer NEKONEKO-SOFT and publisher OVERLAP GAMES have announced Be Missed and Remembered will launch on July 10th, 2026; the game is the newest title from Tomo Kataoka, the creator of the acclaimed visual novel Narcissu.
Players can now head over to the Steam Page to not only wishlist the game ahead of launch, but also to try out the new free demo. While a price has yet to be announced, it has been confirmed a 10% launch discount will be available until July 19th.

High school student Naofuyu travels with his younger sister Risa to spend summer vacation in the rural hometown of their grandparents.
There, he hears a local legend about a mysterious shrine that emerges from a lake only during the summer months.
Yet no one has ever seen it.
No one has ever entered it.
A hidden dwelling said to appear only in summer—a modern-day "Mayoiga."
The locals say a creature known as "Susu" resides within.
Guided by the legend, Naofuyu sets out in search of the Mayoiga.
What he finds there is a solitary girl.

The scenario for Be Missed and Remembered: The Letter from Mayoiga is written by Tomo Kataoka, creator of the internationally acclaimed visual novel Narcissu.
By removing the "S" from "Suicide" in its title, Narcissu became a landmark work that quietly explored the meaning of life amidst harsh realities. Through its unique perspective on life and death and its deeply moving minimalist storytelling, the title helped define an era of independent visual novels worldwide.
Now, Kataoka returns with a completely new original work. This latest title carries the emotional depth, poignant beauty, and richly layered worldbuilding that have become synonymous with his storytelling. Be Missed and Remembered: The Letter from Mayoiga is Kataoka's latest original work and showcases the emotional storytelling for which he is best known.
