From the developer Ionized Studios comes a silly physic based 3D platformer named Limbot, where you and your friends control a cardboard robot together, coming to Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 August 6th, Xbox Series X|S August 7th and PC August 12th.
Here is what the developer have shared about the game.
Overview:
Limbot, a very silly physics-based 3D platform game about controlling the individual limbs of a giant cardboard robot, is launching this week on Nintendo Switch and Xbox, then on Steam on 12 August.
You can play Limbot by yourself, switching control between the robot’s arms and legs, or with friends in local co-op mode, where the limbs would be divided between the group. Multiplayer mode allows up to 4 players, where each player can be responsible for one arm or leg and contribute to the camaraderie and chaos.
Individual control of the limbs make the simple task of walking more challenging. Limbot is likely to stumble and flop over at first, but with practice, players can move with surprising precision, carefully placing each foot, and recovering its balance before things go too wrong.
The levels all take place inside cardboard dioramas, built with paper, tape and random household junk, and are designed to help develop the player's sense of control. Early courses give players room to learn Limbot's movements, while later stages require more precise control with narrower paths, moving obstacles, enemies, etc. The arms can be used for grabbing, punching, firing Limbot's homemade electrical weapon, while legs are mainly used for walking, balancing, stomping and kicking.
As players progress, they can unlock new abilities and upgrades made from more household junks, such as soda cans and wooden spoons. These will give Limbot improved abilities to complete the levels faster and with more style.
What begins as an awkward walk gradually becomes an impressive show of finesse.
Limbot is soon available on consoles and PC, you can already wishlist the game today on its steam page.
