Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter Confirmed, May Release Sooner Than Expected

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter
releases on September 19th this month, but Falcom already has their sights on the sequel and possibly beyond.

In a recent interview with Automation, Nihon Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo brought up the idea of releasing Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter as quickly as possible. It seems that both 1st and 2nd have been in development side by side, and have been refreshers for the development team to help prevent burnout; especially after releasing sequel after sequel these last 20 years.

As fans already know, Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter is only the beginning of the Trails in the Sky, with 2nd (Second Chapter) serving as the second half and conclusion to the original story arc. A third entry titled Trails in the Sky the 3rd also released later on, but focused on different protagonists and served as a bridge between Sky and the upcoming Crossbell story arc. While Kondo did not comment on 3rd specifically, he did confirm that future remakes will depend on fan demand—implying that even Trails from Zero and Trails to Azure are not off the table.

While an exact date was not given for the expected release of 2nd Chapter, Kondo did say he didn't want to keep fans waiting too long, so it may release a lot sooner than many might expect. Of course no further information has been confirmed at this time, but feel free to check out the original interview to learn more.
