Microsoft has teased a new Xbox Console, currently titled Project Helix.
The news was announced via a short teaser, which was followed up by an official statement from Microsoft Gaming CEO Asha Sharma:
Great start to the morning with Team Xbox, where we talked about our commitment to the return of Xbox including Project Helix, the code name for our next generation console. Project Helix will lead in performance and play your Xbox and PC games. Looking forward to chatting about this more with partners and studios at my first GDC next week!
While no further information has been provided at this time, Microsoft shared an image featuring a new X design in the shape of a Double Helix. Previously rumors circulated stating the next Xbox would be a PC and console hybrid—something Sharma's statement seemingly alludes to—but we will have to wait for an official announcement to know more.
