Goose Byte Games and Balor Games have announced the new 1-4 player chaotic rafting adventure game Sponge Break is now available on PC.
About:
In Sponge Break, players and up to three friends take on the role of sponges who've escaped the confines of the kitchen sink. Armed with nothing more than a trusty plunger-hook, a bit of wishful thinking, and proximity chat, the goal of the game is simple: navigate a very fragile raft down the world's most dangerous rapids. (Oh, and don't get wet. That's important, too.) Each sponge team must work together to keep their makeshift barge afloat while using physics and various consumable items to solve challenging puzzles, dodge environmental hazards, and avoid getting attacked by all sorts of wildlife. Simple, right?
Key Features:
- 1 to 4 sponges, drop-in, co-op gameplay. So that friend who's "5 minutes away" can show up 40 minutes later and immediately make it worse. Playable solo too, no judgment.
- Proximity voice chat. Sponges lip-sync to your voice chat. Will you sing a shanty, scream a warning, or just listen to your crew fall apart in real time?
- Real physics, real consequences. Navigate down the world's most dangerous rapids. Steer wrong, flip it and lose all your stuff, take a hit, and the thing comes apart under you. Every run has at least one moment nobody planned and everybody remembers.
- Actual teamwork tools. A plunger that functions as a grappling hook, throw anything that isn't bolted down, and a shared raft stash for the loot you'll definitely lose.
- 100+ unlockable cosmetic options. Customize your sponge's eyes, eyebrows, mouths, hats, your inflatable buoys, even your plunger. Plus emotes, for celebrating a clean run or pointing very clearly at whoever sank it… It was Doug. It's always Doug.
- Level based gameplay, across multiple biomes. The full journey will take you through sewers, rivers, abandoned facilities, and more! Hang out at safehouses between levels to patch up, revive, restock, and have a quick argument before setting sail again.
