Moral of Story, look both ways

I've been playing Battlefield 3 a lot lately, but this is just one story I had to share.
Through this whole entire match in Team Death Match, my team was losing by a LONG shot. I was getting spawn killed (had 0 kills and around 5 deaths), and the rest of my team was also getting picked off one by one. Well, that's when I had an idea to try a trick I managed to pull off the other day.

First of all the map I was in was pretty much a small city area, and there's a few boxed in areas that are inbetween four different buildings. To get into these areas you can go through different narrow paths, and that's where a LOT of people like to camp. Well, I decided to use that against them.

When I walked up to the entrence to one of the areas, I noticed a LOT of people who were just running out while shooting. Since they all failed to look BOTH WAYS before coming out of the building, I was able to simply take each one of them down as soon as they came out.

After getting a few kills from people who were just running out of the building, I decided to use my frags to my advantage. By throwing a frag at the hall way's wall (the hall way that leads into the boxed in area), I was able to bounce it off at an angle that would land on the other end of it. The frag went off which in return created a smoke screen, and I was able to rush in.

There were a few people standing in the hall already, so I quickly took them down while they still couldn't see. The I knew the noise alerted the other players in the boxed in area, so I then backed myself up against the wall and waited. Once again the players just RAN PAST ME without even looking back. A few more free kills.

I then decided to go ahead and charge into the boxed in area, which actually let me take out two before they finally got me.

The rest of the match pretty much played out the same way. The rest of my team started doing the same thing I was, others showed up to back me up, and we were able to hold and win.

So moral of story? Look both ways before you walk out a door. Especially when you notice everyone who walks out of that door ends up getting shot lol

Battlefield 3 - Platoon (360 Megaman Themed Platoon)

So the other day I picked up BF3, and decided to set up a platoon. Really I don't have much to say about the game right now, but if anyone would like to join my Megaman based platoon, you're more than welcome! ^_^

I figured since there's a lot of capcom-unity members out there who will most likely be playing BF3 non stop, why don't we all join together?

Remember, you are able to join more than one platoon so don't worry about leaving whatever platoon you are currently in.

Kirby's Return to Dreamland: Rock Eastereggs

Today I was finally able to pick up a copy of Return to Dreamland, and I was also called a theif by a walmart worker as I walked out the door with it, but that's besides the point! I paid for the game, I got the game, and I love it!

Anyway the game is filled with eastereggs and fanservice, but today I wanted to focus on the Rock Transformations!

So what do you guys think? Really I LOVE to see this kind of thing, so it really makes me happy!
Anyway, Kirby's Return to Dreamland is a great game, and it really feels like a DL game! Please don't listen to the reviews, this is really a game that you have to try out for yourself. Everything in the world is a 3D version of the objects we've seen in DL3 (it even keeps that crayon style look), the songs are a mixs remixes of old songs, and new songs that use parts of older songs, and the layout of each level are also based on DL3.

Sure there's quite a lot of stuff for you Super Star fans, but this is in fact a DL game.

Top Chef in Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny!

Wow just a few mins ago I decided to update my leaderbaord scores for Rune Factory, and that's when I saw some very shocking news... I actually came first in the cooking contest! Normally I'm always kicked to the bottom of leader boards, but for once I actually made it to the top!

I'm sory if this seems like I'm bragging, but I guess it just made me so happy that I had to tell someone! lol Anyway I know it wont last forever, but for now it's nice ^_^ (Play this game guys! If you're a HM/RPG fan that is...)

PIcked up Rune Factory Tides of Destiny!

Remember when I told you guys that I was looking for Radiant Historia the other day? Well not anymore! It turns out that GameStop released the newest Rune Factory game a few days early, and that was something I COULDN'T pass up!

So what is Rune Factory Tides of Destiny? Well Rune Factory, for anyone who hasn't heard of it before, is actually a part of Harvest Moon. Rune Factory takes the Harvest Moon gameplay, farming, interacting with the people of the town, taking part in town events, getting married, having kids, etc, and mixes them with an RPG!

There's MANY stats to level up, including the stats of walking and jumping, and the game has a big focus on exploring and crafting items. Everything you do will level up some kind of skill/stat (I'd say there's around 30 or so catagories which range from talking to people to actual skills you'll use), and the more you do things, the better you get at doing them. Need to cook a really good meal? Well you better practice! Want that really strong weapon? Hopefully you're good at foring! There's a lot of things to practice, and a lot of skills to master.

Tides of Destiny is a little bit different from past games, and it throws in a bunch of new features. To sum it up, this is Harvest Moon + Legend of Zelda Wind Waker + Kingdom Hearts. There are many types of weapons to create, which you have to get material for, and the battle system plays in real time just like in Kingdom Hearts. You'll learn both basic combos, and advance skills as you use your weapons more, and you can freely switch between weapons as well. You do NOT have to stay with a single weapon tree.
The world in ToD is also a fully 3D world, which is a first in Rune Factory, and the world is pretty lively. People will walk around the island, ask you to do favors (you can also take on side quests from a Request Board), and there's a huge ocean for you to explore with 100s of islands. By riding on the back of a huge rock monster, you can travel between islands, fight sea monsters, and discover new areas. Sometimes islands are mini islands with monsters to fight and items to find, other times they're "temples" like you would see in Zelda. If you have ever played Zelda Wind Waker, you'll feel right at home.

Farming is also a lot different, and it mixes in elements from Pokemon. In this game you can befriend pretty much every monster which will then send them to your "barn" like area. Here you'll be able to give your monsters jobs, or even invite them into your party. For the first time in a Harvest Moon game you cannot farm yourself, or even pick what kind of crops you want. This is all monster controlled.

Throughout the game you'll come across islands which allow you to farm, or harvest other items (such as rocks), and these are the islands you'll be sending your monsters to. Each monster is able to grow a different type of crop, and they will do so randomly. Sure you can group monsters together to get a higher chance of growing the crop you want, but you still don't have complete control over it. All you have to do is plant the seeds, which is done by using a magic stick, and the monsters will take care of the rest. (You can also expand your islands by dropping spirits that you can find. They'll allow you to plant more seeds after you've dropped enough of them.)

One thing I REALLY like about the game is the fact that you're always making progress. Every step you make gives you EXP into walking, and every item you make will end up helping you in the long run. No matter what you do, you are ALWAYS moving forward. It really gives you a lot to work at, but its nice.
The game does have a lot of freedom, and it lets you play it however you want to play. You could go do the main story, or you could go fishing. You could upgrade your house and build furniture for it, or you could go to the message board and take on some side quests. Want to explore the ocean and become friends with everyone in town? Go for it! It's just endless, and the game doesn't force you to play one way or another. However if you want to get married and have a kid, you do have to finish the main story.

I would like to do a full review over this game later on, but there's just too much for me to cover. I think it'll be awhile before I've seen enough to actually review it... I'm already 20 hours into the thing, but I'm not even close to the 1/4th way point lol. I've got a LONG ways to go.

Anyway, if you like Harvest Moon, Animal Crossing, RPGs, or any other type of simulation game, check this one out! Yeah the farming isn't as deep as Harvest Moon or the past Rune Factories, but the game expanded in just about every other area.

Went on a Wild Goose Chase

Last week me and my family decided to take a vacation in a town in MO known as Branson (located close to the towns the Tornado hit last summer). Branson is pretty much a show town with a lot of different shows, and stores to go shopping in. Yeah, really I don't know what else to say about it! It's got Silver Dollar City, there's the Show Boat, Sight and Sound Theater, Ride the Ducks, and a lot of shows by famous people. (Ever watch the TV show Undercover Boss? Branson was covered.)

Anyway, after 10 + hours driving (yeah, long ways away), we finally arrived in Branson for our vacation. I guess it wasn't a bad vacation, but there really wasn't much to do other than shows, and it was a LONG LONG ways away from home (not as long as the people who drove from CA or FL though o_O). The thing is, I've been to Branson a few times in my life and every single time I've gone down there, I've bought some video game to remember the trip. Well, that didn't happen this time...

I was going to go ahead and buy a game called Radiant Historia, however finding a game store was next to impossible. On the way home we managed to find about 20 + stores that sold video games (including game stops), but NONE of them had the game I was looking for. I went in Walmarts, GameStops, and even Best Buy, the game was no where. I stopped at every single store I came across on that 10 + hour drive home, yet none of them had it... The game was no where.

By the time I got home I decided to check ONE final GameStop, the one closest to my house. Welp, they had it, but they shut the doors on me... Yeah, so very close to finally getting the game I traveled across the Country to find, but I couldn't get it because they locked the doors.

I guess I'll go down there later today to finally pick it up, but I cant help but think that this game will NOT be worth all the time I spent looking for it. Even so, it's apparently a very hard game to find, and I always like getting rare games. This game might be one of them games I'll have to get just to own it. (Hopefully worth it...)

If you have ever played this game/know anything about it, please let me know! Sure I've watched reviews over the game, but you can't always listen to them. It's much better to hear from someone who actually played it for the sake of playing it.
