Earlier this month we reported how users have been recreating Call of Duty maps in Battlefield 6 using the Battlefield Portal tools; however, it seems that has now come to an end.
Call of Duty, and other third party inspired maps, have now been removed from the Portal, and users who attempt to create them are now being rejected when they submit them for review. Furthermore, users who host games using the previously accepted maps are receiving warnings as well.
Although the Portal tools do allow users to create their own modes and maps, they do have to be approved by the Battlefield team before they can actually be used in game. This review process typically takes a few hours, but with the team doubling down now it could take longer.
In addition to this, lobbies that allowed bots will no longer grant additional XP or allow users to make progress on their weapons and equipment. Match completion bonuses will still be awarded, but players can no longer create farming experiences.
These changes seem to have been made to keep Battlefield 6 pure Battlefield, and once again encourage users to play official maps and game modes.
